Poacher no more! Simon Mowbray leaves Boston Town

Simon Mowbray.

Simon Mowbray.

Simon Mowbray has left Boston Town.

The striker’s time at Tattershall Road came to an end last night by mutual consent.

Mowbray had become frustrated at the lack of chances on the pitch, with competition from Ben Good, Josh Ford and player-boss Ian Dunn.

“He wanted a regular starting place and we couldn’t guarantee him that,” said Dunn.

“It was a mutual agreement and the club wish him all the best for the rest of the season.”

The Poachers will be in action tonight, hosting Lincolnshire rivals Blackstones in the UCL Premier.

Ford and Sam Kirton will both be in contention for a place after being unavailable on Saturday, when Town won 3-0 at Kempston.

Meanwhile, Michael Wood returns from suspension.

Kick off is 7.45pm.
