The Poachers travelled to second-placed AFC Kempston Rovers on Saturday, who began the day deadlocked with leaders Leicester Nirvana on points, but trailing on goal difference.

However, Rovers claimed the title after thumping Town 7-0.

Sam Macrae, Jamiane Ivy and Simon Ashton’s own goal made it 3-0 within 22 minutes, while Jack Dykes saw red in the first half.

Ben Sheperd, Dom Marsala, Robie Goodman and Shane Bush completed the rout to ensure the Walnut Boys pipped Nirvana - who beat Eynesbury 2-1 - by two goals as both sides finished on 97 points.
