Boston Town will begin their pre-season warm-up matches today, hosting Grimsby local league outfit P&P Plumbing and Heating.
Poachers boss Nathan Collins is determined to put his squad through their paces before the UCL Premier campaign kicks off.
And that means that Town will also hold a training session as well as play their opposition.
“There’s no point just giving everyone 45 minutes here and there,” he said.
“We want everyone to feel like they’re getting a workout so we’ll be training as well.”
Collins, however, is quick to point out that the double shift is in no way showing disrespect to his opposition.
“They have players who are good enough for this level and they have players who have played at this level,” Collins continued.
“When I was running a Sunday team I brought them to Boston for a pre-season friendly once, and we should have won that game.
“They’re one of the top sides at that level.”
