Boston Town’s clash at Desborough was postponed yesterday, with boss Ian Dunn describing it as a ‘blessing in disguise’.
A waterlogged piutch was the official reason why the match didn’t go ahead.
“With the rain we’ve had you expect it. But it was a blessing is disguise as we had a bit of a threadbare squad,” Dunn told The Standard.
With illness rife in the Poachers squad, bosses Dunn and Matt Hocking were happy to see the game be re-arranged.
Town had also arranged to play Mark Thompson, ‘borrowed’ from Boston United reserves, to bolster their numbers for the day.
Town now look forward to hosting Peterborough Northern Star in UCL Premier action on Saturday (KO 3pm).
