Spalding United 12 Boston Town 0: Poachers thumped by league highflyers

Boston Town were thrashed 12-0 at Spalding United last night.

UCL Premier highflyers Spalding made it 12 wins from 12 matches in ruthless style.

Former Boston United striker Mark Jones netted four times for the Tulips, with Andrew Tidswell and Sam Mullarkey both hitting hat-tricks at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

Fellow ex-Pilgrims Nathan Stainfield and Dan Cotton also got in on the act.

Town also had for Spalding midfielder Liam Bull sent off with the score at 7-0.

It is the second time he has been red carded in a contests against Pat Rayment’s side this season.

Town took a depleted side to Spalding, with Ollie Pinner, Jason Field and leading scorer Josh Ford all suspended.

Defeat leaves Boston second bottom of the table.

Spalding are currently second, a point behind Deeping Rangers who have played two additional matches.
