Boston Town are targeting more ticks in the win column - after shrugging a monkey off their back.
Jordan Nuttell and Josh Ford both scored twice each on Saturday as the Poachers beat basement side Harborough Town 5-1 in their UCL Premier contest.
Lori Borbely also got on the scoresheet as Town earned their first league victory of the season, at the seventh time of asking.
“It’s a lot happier in the camp now,” admitted joint-boss Ian Dunn.
“It’s got that monkey off our back, hopefully.
“Because they hadn’t won a league match the lads were still a bit nervous.
“But it was nice to win, and win convincingly.”
After leading 2-1 at the interval, Town dominated in the second half to throw those nerves away.
And Dunn doesn’t care about the fact that Harborough are yet to win in the league, he was just pleased to get that first victory.
He added: “We lost to Harborough at home twice last season, once in the league and once in the league cup.
“That was always in the back of my mind.
“It’s always a good feeling to win, especially in the league.
“There are no teams in this division where you think you are guaranteed three points.”
Following Tuesday’s blackout against Holbeach United, where floodlight failure saw the contest postponed, the Poachers now host Wellingborough Town on Saturday (KO 3pm).
“They’re the sort of side who get their tails up,” Dunn added.
“So it’s important we get off to a good start.”
