Nathan Collins has bolstered his Boston Town squad with the signing of two youngsters.

Grimsby Town youth team striker Lee Wattam and 19-year-old defender Matty Kingston, formerly with Sheffied Wednesday, have both agreed to join up with the Poachers.

Town are also waiting to hear from two further unnamed targets, after the club made seven-day approaches.

Wattam (pictured) will arrive from the Mariners to replace Nick Brown, who will miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

“Lee is a promising player who has electric pace,” said Collins, who managed the youngster at Grimsby last season.

Meanwhile, Kingston - who was released by the Owls last year - made his debut during Saturday’s 1-0 UCL Premier defeat at AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

“Matty’s back from a double cruciate problem,” Collins added.

“He’s a pacey player, but when he’s acclimatised himself to playing again he will be a good asset.

“He’s been training with Grimsby over the last few weeks, so I think playing on a boggy pitch on Saturday was a bit of a shock for him.”

Kingston’s arrival could help shore up the Town defence.

Jack Smith remains on the injury list, while defenders Michael Wood and Nick Jackson both went off injured during Saturday’s defeat at the Dog and Duck.
