CRICKET sessions for girls are being held in Boston.
Lincolnshire Cricket has been allocated funding from Sportivate to run a series of cricket sessions for teenage girls which will run after school every Friday at Boston High School on Spilsby Road.
Rachael Dyer, from Lincolnshire Cricket, said: “Sportivate provides us with an excellent opportunity to engage with an age group who have previously had little or no exposure to the game of cricket.
“We want to show girls that it’s not a boy’s game and there are plenty of opportunities to play cricket in the area.”
Sessions run from 3.45–4.45pm in the main school sports hall and cost £1 per week.
The sessions are led by two coaches and no equipment is needed – just PE kit.
Sportivate is a national Sport England programme delivered locally by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.
Lincolnshire Cricket received £287 to deliver the sessions.
