Haven on a high for fourth

TWO Boston school teams featured in the North Midlands Regional Finals of the English Schools Athletic Association Track and Field Cup.

In the Junior Boys Regional B Final, Haven High Technology College finished in a good fourth position.

The Year 7 and 8 boys achieved a total of 290 points to finish ahead of Kings School Pontefract, Lady Manners Bakewell, North Kesteven School and Friesland School, Nottingham.

Boston High School Junior Girls team also finished in fourth position in their match, achieving an improved total of 220 points.

The team of 12 Year 7 and 8 girls called into the B Final at short notice following a withdrawal finished ahead of Lincoln Minster School, Nottingham Bluecoat School and St Georges College of Technology, Sleaford.

Three Haven High representatives achieved a points score of 18 in their individual event.

In the 800m Liam Adams recorded 2mins 25.4secs and Cameron Marshall scored his 18 points in the 1500m clocking 5mins 03.9secs.

Both the high jump competitors added 18 points with Jacub Bilinski and Tiago Torres leaping 1.44m for Boston High School team.

Frances Nuttell was the outstanding points scorer.

Recording 12.2 secs for the 75m hurdles, to score 28 points, Frances also cleared 1.38m in high jump for a further 20 points and a massive contribution of 48 points.

Selina Wells earned 19 points in shot putt with 7.68m and the two 1500m runners each added 17 points with Isabel Rushby recording 5mins 50.4secs and Amber Nuttman 5mins 49.3secs.
