Boston Cricket Club’s First XI are heading off to Belton Park, looking to claim the points that will keep them top of the table.
Saturday’s 151-run victory over Moulton Harrox sees the Mayflower men top the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division after two rounds of matches.
But captain Tom Baxter believes his side’s first away fixture of the year is not one to be taken lightly.
He said: “They chased 190 in their first game and I think at full strength they can cause anybody problems in this league.”
Boston are still without leading bowler Paul Deans and - despite new signing Paul Roberts leading the way with 6-10 off his nine overs at the weekend - Baxter will again have to ring out the changes on Saturday.
Bowler Sam Gilding and batsman Saihan Azim are both unavailable.
One name Baxter (pictured) will be pleased to welcome back is Andy Hewitt, who has previously been unavailable due to commitments with Boston United.
Goalkeeper Hewitt made his Pilgrims debut at Worcester City on Saturday, and now he is hoping to mark his return to Boston CC with a few more steady catches.
“Andy is becoming available at a great time,” Baxter added.
“As Sam goes on holiday, Andy can come in and make that spot his own.
“He’s bowled well at nets but, due to football commitments, he has been unavailable.”
