Long Sutton Seconds 0 Boston Hockey Club Ladies 4: Chris Panton double seals victory

Boston Hockey Club Ladies got back to winning ways following Saturday’s 4-0 demolition of Long Sutton Seconds.

A brace from from Chris Panton, and strikes from Katie Beeson and Lisa Ceaser proved the difference.

Sophie Vaughan made her Boston debut, stepping in between the sticks this week.

The away side dominated from the off and Laura Panton was very unlucky not to open up the scoring within the first few minutes.

A slight change in formation saw Boston go for it as Alice Peto dropped back to defence, with Lisa Ceaser pusing up and working well with Caroline Chester-O’Neill to create opportunities in front of goal.

Tori Needham teed up Chris Panton to slot home Boston’s first.

A perfect through-ball from Chester-O’Neill set up Ceaser, who kept her composure to round the keeper and make it 2-0.

The second half saw Boston play some superb hockey, avoiding some of the questionable challenges from their opponents.

A mazy run from Chester-O’Neill set up Katie Beeson, who should have scored.

But Beeson made amends as she made it 3-0. Collecting the ball, she beat her marker and rattled the backboard with a powerful drive.

The fourth goal again came from the hard work of Chester-O’Neill, who selflessly passed to Chris Panton for her second of the game.

Boston’s players’ player awqard went to Lauren Harvey.

The Ladies are on the road again on Saturday, facing Louth Seconds.
