Boston Cricket Club Firsts host in-form Sleaford Seconds on Saturday.

Tom Baxter’s side currently sit top of the South Lincs and Border League Premier Division, seven points clear of second-placed Grantham.

They are also six places ahead of their weekend opponents.

However, Sleaford have been in a good run of form since their home defeat to Boston on June 21, winning four of their six matches.

“They have some very good cricketers,” said captain Baxter.

“They are a good side that can beat anyone on their day.”

Boston - who are currently on tour in Liverpool - have won five of their six matches since that meeting, with their sixth contest abandoned due to the weather conditions.

This weekend the Mayflower men will be without opening batsman Kieran Evans (pictured) but other than that they will have a full squad to select from.

There are still six rounds of matches to go in the South Lincs and Border Premier Division.

Boston do host Grantham in two weeks’ time, but Baxter does not accept that the winner of that will win the league.

“We have five other games that we need to win as well,” he added.

“There is nothing in it for us beating Grantham if we lose to Sleaford this week.

“We are concentrating on the next game.”
