TOM BAXTER has told his Boston Cricket Club First XI to keep the faith.
The weekend defeat to Bracebridge Heath saw the Mayflower men drop back to the bottom of the Lincs ECB Premier Division.
With five matches remaining, you could be forgiven for thinking the worst.
However, captain Baxter still believes his side can fight off relegation.
“Of course it will be tough, but I still have faith in the side,” he said.
“Yes, we may be bottom, but we are only 20 points behind Market Deeping in 10th place.”
Boston have five games remaining - against Lindum, Skegness, Sleaford, Bourne and Grimsby.
Baxter added: “They are all going to be tough games, but they are games I still feel we can do a job in.”
Boston are up against it and will need to defeat sides they failed to beat earlier on.
“We beat Grimsby. The others beat us and will be hoping to complete a double,” said Baxter.
“It looks set to go to the last day of the season, which could be where both ends of the table are decided.”
On Saturday, the Firsts travel to face Lindum.
The Seconds are at home to Thomas Cook and the Thirds are away at Grimoldby Seconds, as well as entertaining Pinchbeck Thirds in a double-header.
A day later, the Sunday Seconds travel to face Blankney.
