Kippy’s in the wickets, but Boston CC Seconds and Thirds both lose

Boston Cricket Club’s Second XI suffered a 99-run defeat at Blankney Firsts.

David Thomas and Ash Jarvis scored half centuries for the hosts in this South Lincs and Border League Division One match as Blankney finished their 45 overs on 209-7.

Boston’s Lewis Holmes (3-46) and Oliver Thurlby (2-14), Sam Gilding and Sam Major all claimed victims.

Steve Elleray (37), Richard Tomlin (34) and Oliver Thurlby (11) scored well, but nobody else managed to reach double figures as Boston were bowled for 110.

Vikram Kippy took a five-wicket haul for Boston Thirds, but his side lost by eight runs at Welby in the South Lincs and Border League Division Two.

Steve Appleyard (three) and Kevin Manning also took wickets as Welby were out for 155.

Boston were bowled for 147, Manning (47), Kartik Kippy (17) and Sean Barnett (15) scoring well.

The Boston Sunday Firsts won their Lincoln Premier League match at Market Rasen by five wickets.

Tom Baxter recorded 5-22 as Rasen were out for 155.

Boston finished on 156-5.
