It’s first versus second in the South Lincs and Border Premier Division on Saturday as league leaders Boston Firsts make the short trip to Woodhall Spa Seconds.

Boston are looking for their 10th consecutive victory, but will remain without the services of Australian Ben Vella and captain Tom Baxter.

“We will be lighter on batting and bowling than we would be with our full-strength side, but we still have lots of batting and bowling capable of winning that game,” Baxter said.

Woodhall Spa’s 1st XI are sitting top of the ECB Premier League and, with their Second XI still in contention for the South Lincs and Border Premier Division, they will be full of confidence ahead of the big clash.

With six games remaining of the season, Boston are looking for five victories to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

“Every game is vital,” added Baxter.

“We have to win five of six but our aim is to win the next game and that is a huge one at Woodhall Spa on Saturday.”

On Sunday, Boston Cricket Club start their annual tour.

The group will be making the journey to Newcastle to take on South Shields and Benwell Hill Cricket Clubs, but prior to the cricket will be visiting St James’ Park for the first game of the Premier League season.
