Millson aims for a starting role
Thursday, 9.15am - PILGRIMS midfielder Adam Millson is suffering from a case of déjà vu.
For the second year in succession the Boston United Player of the Season will have to prove his worth in a bid to earn a place in the team's starting XI.
Joint-managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst have overhauled the team – retaining just three of the players who fought off UniBond Premier relegation on the final day of last season.
"I want to be on the team sheet for the first game on next season," said 19-year-old Millson, who was handed his first start when Steve Welsh replaced Tommy Taylor last November.
"But to do that I know I've got to perform in front of the new managers and the new team."
Millson, who broke his leg at Nantwich in the penultimate game of last season, has been retained by the club, along with keeper Aaron Butcher and defender Liam Parker.
He is now out of pot and in a brace, allowing him to move his knee at last.
Millson will return for his next check-up on July 2, and if things go to plan he will be out of his brace with six weeks to prepare for the start of the season.
"I'm just hoping I can do well and have a good pre-season," he added.
