It’s been quite a year for young motorsport star Mickie Simpson.

The 11-year-old Old Leake Primary School pupil has not only won a British Championship title on his 65cc motocross bike, he also finished second in the junior class at the British Championships.

Mickie has been riding motorbikes since the age of three and racing since the age of six, competing up and down the country.

And motorsport is definitely in Mickie’s blood, he is the son of Wrangle’s Shaun Simpson, a two-time British Champion in the 1000cc sidecar team passenger class, who has also claimed three wins at the Lincolnshire Poacher event run by the Wainfleet club.

This season is Mickie’s last in the 65cc class, due to his age.

And after having a 12 months to remember, he is now looking forward to compete in the intermediate classes on the grass.

In addition to his grasstrack racing, Mickie is keen to get onto the speedway circuit, and has competed in the British 125cc Speedway Championship at Peterborough, finishing in eighth position.

Mickie currently has support from Pip’s Courier Service, Pilgrim Foods, Hackls Grooming, Ivanvale Nature Resrve, Ray Ingham Mowers, and CB Tuning.
