Cosmos 28 (0) A40 39 (6): THE top game of the week in the top division saw fourth-placed A40 defeat second-placed Cosmos.

Lewis Skinner, Gill Grant and Jean Cammack (18-15) and Royce Reynolds, Colin Palmer and Keith French (21-13) did the damage.

A40 moved up a place and the Cossies drop to fourth.

l IBC 21 (0) Holland Fen 58 (6): HOLLAND Fen eased past third-bottom IBC as skips Gary Morris and Mick Tomlin won 27-13 and 31-8.

l Stumpers 38 (6) Invaders 24 (0): BOTTOM team Stumpers beat out of form Invaders. Ken Bycroft and Denis Robins were successful 19-9 and 19-15.

l Eastenders 45 (6) Royal Mail 22 (0): LEADERS Eastenders picked up all the points against Royal Mail – Tony Powell, Jonathan West and Andrew Reeson (16-12) and Keith Tointon, Ady Field and Matt Whyers (29-10) both winning.

l Woodhall 30 (1) Jolly farmers 46 (5): DAVID Allen’s rink won 28-12 for the aggregate points as Jolly Farmers’ Joe Moore tied 18-18.

l Carlton Road 43 (6) Freelanders 30 (0): CARLTON Road got off to a good start against Freelanders as skips Geoff Parker and Chris Gill took all the points with wins of 24-14 and 19-16.

T & B Containers Division Two

l Norprint 31 (0) Kirton Town 34 (6): LEADERS Kirton Town found it tough going against third-bottom Norprint. However, Gordon Gallichan (18-17) and Peter Tracey (16-14) skipped their side to six points.

l Patriarchs 25 (0) Swineshead 45 (6): SWINESHEAD maintained second place against Patriarchs as Margaret Chester won 23-9 and Fred Scrupps added a 22-16 result.

l Parthians 33 (0) Feathers 41 (6): FEATHERS moved up to third with a maximum points haul against Parthians. Geoff Dawson was successful 25-18 and Ian Smith won 16-15.

l Strollers 36 (2) Golfers 42 (4): STROLLERS’ Alan Everitt won 24-19, but his side continue to slip down the table as Graham Scarboro’s 23-12 result won four points.

l Breakaways 50 (6) Boston park 21 (0): BREAKAWAYS proved too strong for bottom team Boston Park, John Stevens and Pauline Richardson winning 26-12 and 24-9.

l Punchbowlers 21 (0) Halfpints 49 (6): HALFPINTS picked up their fifth consecutive maximum points haul and now sit in fifth, Iris Reeson, Carol Dowse and Tina Reeson winning 19-11 and Debbie Cunningham, Craig Cunningham and Mark Brown recording a 30 -10 result.

l Sibsey 26 (0) Crowns 41 (6): THE top five all won maximum points, with leaders Crowns beating Sibsey as skips Peter Copeland and Barbara Houghton were successful 17-14 and 24-12.

l Amateurs 56 (6) Traders 24 (0): SUCCESSES of 31-6 and 25-18 for skips Pat Weaver and Mick Greet saw Amateurs beat Traders.

l Fairways 20 (0) Highflers 44 (6): HIGHFLYERS were too strong for the Fairways. Joe Carson, Terry John and Eric Lewis won 21-8 and Barrie Trigg, Malc Rogers and Anthony Tabor went on to succeed 23-12.

l Burtons 29 (0) Vikings 436 (6): VIKINGS skips Doug Staples and Ralph Sawer finished strongly to clean up the points 17-13 and 19-16.

l Autos 50 (6) BBC 19 (0): AUTOS won comfortably against BBC, 26-6 and 24-13.

l Central 35 (2) Shipmates 40 (4): SHIPMATES produced the win of the week.

Matched against higher-placed opponents Central, they were able to win the aggregate points.

For Central, Dave Clark, Brian Roberts and Brian Hunn were successful 23-17.

Replying for the Shipmates, Grace Bristow, Michael Bolsin and John Bristow produced a winning scorecard of 23-12.

Yetton Plate

THE Boston ladies’ Yetton Plate team defeated South Forest 87-67.

Their next opponents will be Redcar on February 2.
