SUNDAY’S open contest at Westwood Lakes was won by youngster Adam Playford, using his trusty method approach from peg seven on Kestrel Lake.
He alternated between dead maggott and 6mm pellet hook baits to tempt all carp into his 45lb 10 oz total, just edging out George Warren.
Results: 1 Adam Playford 45lb 10oz, 2 George Warren 43lb 9 oz, 3 Steve Lane 34lb 2oz.
Tuesday’s open was won by the in-form Alec Rawlings, making it two wins out of three using his flavoured bronze maggott approach.
He took small carp, chubb, tench and bream for 34lb from peg 38 skylark.
Results: 1 Alec Rawlings 34lb, 2 Steve Lane 32lb, 3 Brian Thompson 27lb 4oz.
Thursday’s popular over 50s open contest was tight.
Out in front was Trevor Ogilvie with a catch of bream and stocky carp for 44lb 8oz, just ahead of Barry Hawkins.

The regular Thursday over 50s, Sunday Open and Tuesday Open matches will take place at Westwood Lakes this week.
