Boston Tennis Club’s B team faced their A team rivals in the Boston and District Winter League... earning a 3-1 victory.

The Winter League resumed this weekend after a small gap in the schedule over December and January.

This Sunday the weather looked set to cause havoc when the morning brought rain, sleet and cold conditions - and play did not look set to resume.

However, the two Boston sides braved the conditions and completed the fixture.

The Boston A’s Sam Felipes, Matthew Gedney, Thomas Hull and Harry Foster could not get the better of David Cheer, Andy Clamp, Henry Beesley and Alex Cobb, who respresented the B.

This Sunday, Boston B play current league champions Boston C in a possible title decider.

In the Lincolnshire Slazenger Junior Team Leagues, Boston C’s Serena Morrow, Alice Gamman, Isabelle Servonat, Bethany Hayes, Jacob Felipes, William Tawton, William Pettit and Jessica Dolata faced Woodhall Spa’s Tennis Buddies and claimed a very good 2-1 victory.

Boston Tennis Club members Lois Boothby, Hannah Willis, Katie Woods and Isabel Wookey competed in a tournament at Louth.

Hannah was the runner-up in the nine-and-under age group, losing a close final in the third set.

Isabel was third, with Lois fourth and Katie seventh.

There were some tightly-contested matches with the narrowest of margins between the players.
