BADAC make good start to Lincolnshire Track and Field League

Boston and District Athletic Club members made a promising start to their Lincolnshire Track and Field League campaign at Grantham’s South Kesteven Stadium.

The Gold Tops claimed 10 first places, eight seconds and five thirds.

The final team results saw the BADAC women’s team in fifth, the men seventh and the boys in fourth spot.

Victories were achieved in the women’s event by by Jenny Rose (pole vault, 2.40m) and Emma Penniston (3,000m, 16mins 16secs).

Alice Flint won three under 20s events (400m hurdles, 71.8secs, long jump, 4.66m, 400m, 65.5secs), with Becky Locking on top in one (100m, 14.8secs).

Under 17 girls’ winners were Frances Nuttell (high jump, 1.45m) and Selena Wells (hammer, 24.17m),

Silver spots went to Emma Penson (hammer, 11.15m), Alice Flint (200m, 28.6 secs), Becky Locking (long jump, 4.26m), under Isabel Rushby (800m, 3mins 07secs; 1,500m, 24.4secs) and under 11 Macey Andrews (19.19m).

Frances Nutell also finished in a third spot (100m, 13.5secs).

Men’s winners were under 15s Blake Garwell (1,500m, 5mins 03.8secs) and Kieran Pickwell (discus, 14.76m) and under 11 Jenson Barkworth (cricket ball throw, 22.86m)

Also in the men’s categories, second places went to under 20 Sam Johnson (400m, 53.4 secs) and Kieran Pickwell (200m, 31.6secs),

Blake Garwell (high jump 1.30m), Kieran Pickwell (long jump, 3.76m) and under 11 Jamie Westland (long jump, 2.75m) all claimed third places for the BADAC team.
