Hardy Boston and District Athletic Club members haven’t let the long winter hold them back, as they continue to train within their indoor facility at Punchbowl Lane.

Great training performances were achieved by the club’s under 15s, under 17s and senior women athletes.

The B-Hive centre has an indoor long jump pit, and indoor shot, discus and hammer net.

it is the only facility in the region to have two pole vaulting beds, in addition to its high jump beds.

This means the club can continue with its spring training, despite the winter climate which has been dwelling outdoors recently.

Weekly training is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7-9pm and on Sunday mornings, from 10am-noon.

Junior club training, for those aged 11 and under, is on Friday evenings.

It is held between 5pm and 7pm.

For further details, contact Nanette Johnson for training information on 07711 156 086.

All this hard work should prove worthwhile, as the outdoor athletics season begins on April 20 at the Costello Standium, Hull.

The club’s Friskney half marathon will be held on April 7.

The club have entered the Humberside, Northern and Lincolnshire League, and have many athletes competing in the County Combined Events Championships in May.

Selina Wells and Frances Nuttell are close to gaining National Standard distances for the hammer and high jump. respectively.
