This weekend he added the Thomas Cup to his successes.

In this medal event he carded a nett 68, including six birdies.

Once again he collected his prize from Mr Pearson.

Ladies from Boston Golf Club teed up with their guests from other clubs for their invitation day last week.

A slight hold up with the inclement weather wasn’t going to dampen the spirits of those playing, the format being a full handicap pairs betterball.

Winning with 40 stableford points on a countback were Yvonne Shaffarczyk with her partner Claire Rylott (Spalding).

Second, also on 40 points, were Kath Yates with Jo Burden (Woodhall) and third with 39 points were Yvonne Wright with partner Pam Shepherd (Louth).

The best front nine, which was not in the main prizes, went to Lynn Worthington with Partner Chris Bishop (Sudbrook Moor) as they earned 20 points.

The best back nine was carded by Ann Gullick with guest Chelsea Petty (Tydd St Giles) as they collected 19 points.

Nearest the pin for the home player on the fifth was won by Judith Flevill, and nearest the pin for guests on the 14th was won by Claire Rylott.

Yvonne Shaffarczyk took the prize for the only two scored.
