BEN Roberts has become the first ever student from Boston’s Lone Wolf Taekwondo to be awarded a black belt.

He collected the accolade after being examined by club instructor Robin Ford, himself a sixth dan black belt.

A team of 12 students from the group travelled to Leeds to compete in a taekwondo competition, taking part in sparring and patterns divisions and winning six gold and five silver medals.

On July 8, Lone Wolf Taekwondo will host a family fun day at Wing Meadows, Freiston Road.

There will be displays, trial lessons and special enrolment offers as well as stalls, a bouncy castle and a barbecue. The event is free and open to all.

Lone Wolf Taekwondo runs classes from the Trinity centre on Spilsby Road on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

A free taster session is available for anyone interested. For more details, call Robin Ford on 0800 566 8814 or log on to www.lonewolftaekwondo.co.uk
