WYBERTON sprinter Bernice Wilson continues to turn heads as she aims to earn a place in the Great Britain squad for next month’s European Championships.
On Saturday she recorded a personal best 7.25 secs in the 60m sprint, competing in the Aviva Indoor Trials in Sheffield.
This is the second time she has recorded a qualifying time for the Euro event in consecutive weeks.
However, this was only enough for second spot as Jodie Williams, who pipped Bernice on the line, was handed a time of 7.24 secs.
Last week the 26-year-old ran 7.26 secs, which was then the fastest sprint time of the season.
“It would be my dream to compete in the European Championships,” said Bernice.
The event takes place in Paris next month.
And things are currently looking good for Bernice, who, with the second fastest time of the year so far, could be likely to book her place in the three-woman sprint squad.
However, she refuses to take anything for granted until confirmation is received, final decisions are expected to be made in the next 10 days.
