Boston and District AC athletes notch up victories

Boston and District Athletic Club representatives notched up some good victories at the third of this season’s Humberside Track and Field League matches at Grimsby last weekend.

In the 200m hurdles, under 20 Josh Wattam won the mixed age event in an encouraging 28.5 secs, also securing maximum points in the 200m (24.4 secs).

At under 17 level, Daniel Martin finished third in the 200m (27.2 secs) and 400m (60.4 secs) and was fourth over 100m (13.2 secs).

Jacob Robertson cleared 1.50m to win the high jump.

Becky Locking was first in the under 20 women’s 100m (14.0 secs) and second in the long jump (4.34m).

In the under 17 category, Frances Nuttell was second in the triple jump (9.61m) and third in long jump (4.79m) and 100m (13.6 secs).

In the under 15 boys’ age group, Blake Garwell was fourth over 1,500m (4 mins 55.8 secs) and claimed second in the triple jump (8.31m).

William Parsons won the triple jump (8.80m) and finished eighth in the shot (7.76m).

Thomas Johnson added second place points in javelin (25.05m) and claimed fifth position in the shot (8.37m).

Under 15 Laura Van Lier won the 75m hurdles (12.8 secs) and was second in high jump (1.40m) and 100m (13.9 secs).

Brandon Andrews competed in three under 13 boys’ events, finishing second in the 75m hurdles (15.9 secs), third in heat two of the 200m (32.2 secs) and fourth in long jump (3.61m).

Macey Andrews won her 80m heat (12.7 secs), threw 20.08m in the soft hammer and took third in long jump (2.75m).
