Boston and District AC teams sit fourth in Lincs Track and Field League

Boston and District Athletic Club’s women’s and boys’ teams are both in fourth place in the Lincolnshire Track and Field League.

The BADAC girls’ team are fifth and the men’s team seventh after the second round at Lincoln’s Yarborough Leisure Centre.

Jose Ferriera won the senior men’s 1,500m (4 mins 30.6 seconds) while, over the same distance, Emma Penniston was first in the under 20 women’s section (5 mins 42.3 secs).

Two other under 20 ladies produced impressive performances.

Alice Flint chalking up a treble with winning performances in the 1,500m steeplechase (6 mins 17,8 secs), triple jump (8.51m) and long jump (4.74m). Jenny Rose won the pole vault (2.30m) and came third over 100m (14.9 secs).

In the under 17 women’s category, Frances Nuttell won the high jump (1.50m), achieved a personal best 8.94m for second in the triple jump and came third in the 80m hurdles (13,6 secs).

Lara Smith was third in the triple jump (7.99m) and sixth over 200m (30.8 secs).

In the under 17 men’s section, Mark Penniston was fourth in the long jump (3.20m).

Half a dozen under 15 representatives achieved improved performances.

Hermione Wright earned an encouraging third over 800m (2 mins 49.9 secs) and finished fifth in the 75m hurdles (14.4 secs).

Kieran Pickwell won the 80m hurdles (16.3 secs), adding a second in long jump (3,65m) and fifth in discus (15.35m).

William Parsons was second in 80m hurdles (16.4 secs), third in the 300m (48.8 secs) and fourth in the discus (15.80m).

Over 3,00m, Tom Evans was second (48.0 secs) and added fourths in shot (6.38m) and javelin (16.83m).

Tom Johnson was third in both shot (6.95m) and 200m (30.4 secs) and fifth in javelin (16.83m).

Matthew Connolly was fifth over 300m (51.3 secs) and seventh in discus (12.32m).

The under 15 boys won the 4x100m relay (59.0 secs).

Under 13 Alice Parsons was fifth in 70m hurdles (15.8 secs) and eighth over 200m (35.7 secs), while David Scott was fourth in 200m (37.7 secs) and 800m (3mins 29.6 secs) and ninth in shot (3.45m).

Under 11 Macey Andrews won the long jump (2.85m) and was second in the 80m (13.1 secs). Madison Beeson was fifth in the 80m (14.9 secs) and ninth in the long jump (1.82m).

Jenson Barkworth secured third place in the boys’ 80m (13.6 secs) and fifth in the cricket ball throw (19.30m).

Jamie Westland threw the cricket ball (19.44m) for fourth and was seventh over 600m (2 mins 27.7 secs), while Hallam Bedford was fourth in 80m (13.8secs) and long jump (2.62m).
