Boston boys do battle in the Aegon Team Tennis tournament

BOSTON youngsters took to the courts in the Aegon Team Tennis event... facing one another.

Aegon Team Tennis is a singles based team competition and teams compete either on a county, regional or national level.

The match is made up of four singles and two doubles rubbers.

The boys’ first team – Toby McDonnell-Woods, Sam Felipes, Blake Kenneally-Forrester and Thomas Cozens - won through on all four of the singles matches.

This was a tough encounter for the younger second team of David Dorey, Jack Howard, Ethan Barkworth and James Colam. The seconds put up strong resistance in the doubles round but ultimately lost out.

The under eights mixed team travelled to David Lloyd Burton Waters to compete in the first round of the Aegon Team Tennis event.

Matthew Gedney, William Cheer, Paris Royal and Bradley Worth played four singles matches each.

The team is allocated two points for every singles rubbers won.

The overall score was 20-12 in Boston’s favour.
