Boston Indoor Bowls Club began their National Top Club campaign with a 12-4 victory at Stamford.

Defeats for S. Reeson (19-9) and T. Reeson (15-3) in the singles gave Stamford an early four points. However, D. Wilson-Rogers and J. West (8-15) were victorious in the singles and A. Field, J. Smith and M. Tomlin (19-17) won their triples match.

This meant that Boston needed a draw or win from the rinks as a loss would mean an aggregate countback, which gave Stamford the advantage.

Trailing 15-21 with just two ends to play, J. Sharp. S. Simpson Shaw, P. Flatters and L. Feary dug deep.

This seemed to unsettle the opposition and on the last end the Boston quartet dominated and secured the win (25-21) with a count of six, seeing Boston qualify for the next round.
