Boston Hockey Club Men have earned promotion following a 6-3 victory over Cambridge Nomads.

Success ensured the Sportsman-based side ended the Eastern League Division 5NW season in second, just one point behind Louth.

Boston only needed one point to guarantee promotion and - having beaten Nomads 9-0 earlier in the season - they were confident of securing victory.

However, the Nomads began the first half strongly with some skilful play - taking the lead in the 15th minute.

Luckily, this was all the motivation Boston needed.

Some great skill from the Boston forwards saw Richard Wightman, Cameron Salisbury and J. Birks all scoring in the first half.

After the break, Boston scored three more, Salisbury adding a second and Andy Stone netting a brace.

Defensive errors from Boston allowed Cambridge to score twice late on, but by then victory was secured.
