BOSTON Hockey Club’s ladies side made it two wins out of two matches in the Lincolnshire League.

Katie Beeson and Lauren Pitts were on target as they earned a 2-1 victory at home to Woodhall Spa.

Boston welcomed back Donna Chester-O’Neill, who took her place between the sticks.

However, several key players were missing in outfield roles.

Boston started well, with good work all over the pitch.

In midfield, Caroline Chester-O’Neill was keeping Woodhall at bay, along with some superb defending by Lisa Ceaser, Petra Wood and Claire Nundy.

Tori Needham had another fantastic game out on the right wing, working well with Chester-O’Neill when Boston attacked.

The first half was an even affair as both sides competed in an end-to-end contest.

Boston took the lead just before half time when Needham created space down the right-hand side.

After an amazing run she put a cross into the D for Beeson to slot home.

The second half saw Boston pick up their game and they dominated the match with their attacking play.

Pitts and Caroline Chester-O’Neill were bossing the middle of the turf.

Donna Chester-O’Neill had a very quiet game, but when she was called upon she pulled off some great saves.

More attacking play from Boston saw Pitts double the advantage for the home side.

Finding space in the D she swept the ball home with a great finish.

Woodhall didn’t give up and they got a goal back towards the end of the match - but Boston held onto their lead and claimed victory.

Player’s Player was Tori Needham.

On Saturday, Boston travel to face Lincoln Seconds.

Boston Ladies train on a Tuesday evening (7-9pm) at Rosebery Avenue.
