PLAYERS from Boston Junior Netball Club travelled to The Epic Centre, at Grange de Lings, to receive their trophies and certificates from the 2011-12 Lincolnshire County Netball League.

First to receive awards from Boston were the under 11s squad, who were crowned county champions after taking part in five Grand Prix tournaments at different venues.

Craig Forbes received the Players’ Player trophy for this age group.

Boston has two under 12s teams competing - Boston Thunder and Boston Lightning.

Thunder had a remarkable season, remaining unbeaten, also being crowned county champions.

Boston Lightning just missed out on the trophies by a small margin.

Players’ Player trophies were awarded to Niamh Addison (Boston Lightning) and to Charlotte Priestley for their sterling efforts during the season.

The under 14s came fifth in their division, with Georgie Rowley receiving the Players’ Player award.

The under 16s had a challenging season, with Annatha Munn collecting the Players’ Player trophy.

Also, during the evening, the players who had gained places at the county satellite academies were presented with a certificate and ball to reward them for their efforts.

Receiving awards from Boston were Charlotte Priestley, Georgia Rowley and Sophie Walsh (under 14s) and Annatha Munn (under 16s).

Boston Thunder were awarded the trophy for the best defence out of all the teams in all the age categories, only letting in an average of 4.2 goals per game.

They were also named Team of the Year.

The club are now looking for new players for their teams, aged from under 11s to under 19s.
