Boston Rowing Club returned from the Head of the Soar event with a collection of trophies.
It’s been a long wait between events for competitors from the Carlton Road Boathouse, but they showed no signs of rust as they took to the waters near Loughborough.
Rowing was set over 3k upstream on the winding river, with only rowers older than 14 eligible to compete.
The WJ15 4x+ team of Ruby and Jasmine Latka, along with Maddy Lambe and Bunty Blanshard, were bumped up an age group.
However, they still made light work of the Soar as they crossed the finish line in first position.
The J15 2x of Dingo Summerfield and Harry James also shot to victory in their race.
To avoid going head-to-head with their squad mates, Jaques Gavey and Oliver Tunnard raced up at J16 2x level.
And they came a creditable second behind a much older crew.
The Summerfield twins Polly and Saffy competed in the WJ17 2x while the WJ15 2x duo of Lucie Scott and Holly Saunston also rowed well, but were just nudged out of contention.
The boys’ J17 2x pair found the pace a little hot while the only adult entry, the Masters C4+, also won their race.
