Boston sharp shooters down Birds

Boston Netball League

League A

Boston A 26

D-Birds Red 11

A SLOW start coupled with tight defences meant there were few goals scored in the first quarter of this match.

But the game soon picked up pace as Boston began to work the ball well around their goal third.

Jayne Walsch scored several goals in quick succession as Boston pulled ahead of D-Birds, who soon found themselves struggling to re-gain some possession.

A further flurry of goals at the Boston end meant there was little D-Birds could do as Boston took the match 27-11.

Players’ player: Jayne Walsch (GA) Boston.

League B

Flinders Flyers 27

Boston B 17

FLINDERS Flyers and Boston B got off to an even start as both teams worked well across the court,

It was Flinders who managed to break away first, giving shooters Alicia Inglis and Sarah Clarke plenty of chances at goal.

Boston B continued to work hard with wing attack Laura Kirk dodging the defence brilliantly.

But Flinders proved to be too strong in the circle for it to pay off in goals.

This was a great game to watch, with Flinders winning 27-17.

Players’ player: Alicia Inglis GS Flinders.
