Junior members of Boston Tennis Club reached several finals at the annual Hunstanton Tennis Tournament last week.
Saturday was finals day on the Norfolk coast and a good number of the finals included players from the Sleaford Road club.
This is the biggest tournament of its kind in the country and attracted around 1,000 competitors.
There was success for Emily Hawkesworth in the under 18 girls’ singles.
Victoria Beardsley won the girls’ under 14 singles and, partnering Charlotte Priestley, she won both the under 14 and under 16 girls’ doubles.
She also won the tournament award for the best performance for a junior lady.
Emma Mastin and Jessica Frankish were the runners-up in the under 16 girls’ doubles.
Lucy Hull won the 12 and under event.
David Cheer and Jessica Frankish were the runners-up in the under 18 mixed doubles event.
William Cheer won the under 10 boys’ singles and doubles and, with Calypso Priestly, won the under 12 mixed section.
The senior competitors from Boston Tennis Club often finished as the runners-up.
However, former Boston coach Andrew Cook was the winner of the over 35 men’s singles.
Will Mason was runner-up in the open men’s section and, with Danielle Frankish, they finished as runners-up in the open mixed singles.
James Newton and Dan Bambridge were runners-up in the men’s restricted doubles.
James and Ray Frankish were runner-up in the men’s over 45 veteran doubles.
John Gibson and Chris Cook were runners-up in the men’s over 55 doubles.
Rachel Hawkesworth and Margaret Fincham finished in second place in the ladies’ over 50 doubles.
