Boston Tennis Club members represented Lincolnshire in the LTA’s Aegon Summer County Cup during the course of last week.

Laura White, Dom Beesley, Joe Woolley, Will Mason and James White were all called up for Yellowbelly county duty.

The event takes place with some of Britain’s best players taking to the court to represent their counties in tennis.

This doubles-only event is held at 15 grass court venues across Britain over the course of a week, with men’s and ladies’ teams from 44 counties involved.

A week of fantastic weather enabled the matches to be played without disruption.

Lincolnshire Men played in Group Four in Oxford and the Ladies competed in Group Five at Cheltenham.

Laura, the coach at Boston Tennis Club, was part of a winning team.

Lincolnshire’s ladies beat Dorset 6-3, Staffordshire 7-2, Northumberland 5-4, Devon 9-0 and - despite losing 4-5 to Durham and Cleveland - they won the division and gain promotion to Group Four for next year’s event.

Lincolnshire Ladies finished top of the division due to rubber difference as three teams finished with four wins.

Lincolnshire men finished mid-table and will remain in Group Four next year.

Club members Dominic and Joe were amongst a team including former club members Will Mason and James White, both coaching at venues around the country.

Lincolnshire lost to Warwickshire 3-6, Middlesex 0-9, and Somerset 2-7 but had wins against North Wales 6-3 and Nottinghamshire 8-1 to keep the team secure.
