BOSTON Tennis Club’s Aegon Boy’s 12 and under team showed their mettle to play on when many games were postponed this weekend.

In a rain-drenched match, played at Boston on Saturday afternoon, they faced David Lloyd Burton Waters, battling but losing out 4-2.

The team of Tom Cozens, David Dorey, Michael Niedermeier and Will Bero put up a strong resistance.

The singles went mainly the way of Burton Waters, with one going in Boston’s direction.

There was a very good effort from both doubles pairs, but they came up against a team determined not to go in to a tiebreak situation, having done so recently in a Boston match.

The doubles were close but shared between the two teams.

Both Boston nine and under teams in the Aegon Team Tennis played each other in the County Division. It was a rain-delayed match, but the final outcome was a win to Boston A.

Playing for Boston A were Matthew Gedney, Thomas Hull, Paris Royal and Bradley Worth, while Boston B had Alastair Boothby, Millie Alexander, Daniel Colam and Harvey Vickers in action for them.

The Boston and District Winter League has been completed – and won by Boston C team.

Captained by Dan Bambridge the team continued this season from where they finished at the end of the last season.

Winning the Winter League last year the team defended the title successfully.

There was only one close match against Boston E which nearly caused an upset. However Boston C managed to gain a winning draw and were unbeaten for remainder of matches.
