BOSTON Tennis Club’s men’s team earned a 4-2 win over Lutterworth in their Aegon Team Tennis 2012 clash.
Competing in the North Midlands Regional League on Sunday, Will Mason, Dominic Beesley, Mike Burnett and Sam Kemp got the team off to a great start to the campaign.
The singles round was dominated by Boston, with three wins out of four before the doubles were shared to give Boston a valuable victory.
Other matches in the Aegon Team Tennis competition - which offers national and regional leagues for adults and juniors - also got underway.
The under 12 boys’ A and B teams were in action on Saturday.
Boston A was away to Eastgate, while Boston B entertained David Lloyd, Burton Waters.
The A team – Thomas Cozens, David Dorey, Michael Niedermeier and William Bero – won one singles match against a strong Eastgate team, although they just missed out 4-2 in the final standings.
Boston B were up against a strong team in David Lloyd, but managed to grab the victory. Harry Baldry just missed out in his singles, but Max Wilson, James Colam and Harry Foster added two singles wins between them.
The doubles rounds left a draw, forcing a deciding tie-break, which Harry Baldry and James Colam won 10-7.
Thelast matches were played in the Lincolnshire Mini Tennis Leagues.
Boston B won 3-0 against Skegness.
The team was Jordan Stone, Callum McMillan, Juan Advani, Antonio Brown, Thomas Hull, Eloise Winterflood, Faith Coffey and Lucy Hull.
Boston C lost out 1-2 to Horncastle – playing were Anton Kiss, Callum Kiss, Rodrigo Quevedo, Serena Morrow, Bradley Worth, Alastair Boothby, Joe Cannon and Harry Foster.
Next weekend matches begin in the Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League.
