As Andy Murray achieved his dream of winning the All England Club men’s title this weekend, youngsters from Boston Tennis Club were playing out their Road to Wimbledon ambitions.

The boys’ and girls’ 14 and under Road to Wimbledon County final took place at Lincoln’s Eastgate club, with the winners set to play at SW19 in August.

Samuel Felipes and Thomas Cozens were the winners of the Boston Road to Wimbledon boys’ 14 and under tournament, and they were joined by clubmates Jack Howard and Toby McDonnell-Woods.

Over the duration of two intense days, all four boys competed at a high level against players from all around Lincolnshire - but were unable to make it through.

In the girls’ event, Dana Kenneally-Forrester and Charlotte Priestley were the winner and runner-up of the Boston event, and Chloe Robinson was also invited to attend.

Dana won through to the final but lost out to Jessica Jackson in an excellent match.

Chloe lost her first match 1-4, 1-4, but in the first round losers’ contest she won her next two matches, 4-1, 4-1, and 4-2, 4-0.

Charlotte won her first match 4-0 4-0, going into the first round winners’ side of the event where she lost to the eventual victor 0-4, 1-4.

Chloe played alongside Victoria Beardsley and Lucy Hull in this year’s girls’ under 12s County Cup.

The Lincolnshire side played at Corby in Group A with four other counties, where a win over Northamptonshire placed the team in fourth overall.
