Boston Wheeler Marshall is outstanding in first 30-mile race

Four Boston Wheelers competed in Sunday’s Lincs Road Racing Association’s 30-mile event.

Adrian Marshall was in fine form, clocking an outstanding 1 hour 09.42 mins in his first attempt at the distance.

Other times: Darren Smith 1.13-45, Nic Chapman 1.20-40, Ian Scott 1.22-42.

Alan Wheeler took part in the the Vitruvian Triathlon at Rutland Water on Saturday.

The event included a 1,900m swim, an 85k bike ride and a 21k run.

After a poor swim, which saw him leave the water in 286th place (out of 612), the Boston Wheeler clawed his way back to complete the course in 108th place (26th in the 36-40 year male category) in a time of 4 hours 51.44 mins.

Boston Wheelers Cycling Club Go-Ride will be organising come-and-try sessions at the Boston Community Showcase on Sunday.

Bikes and helmets will be provided.

Anyone aged 15 or under is welcome to come along and try it.
