Boston light heavyweight Callum Johnson took his unbeaten record in the pro ranks to six on Friday, following his victory over John Anthony.
Johnson sent the 38-year-old Doncastrian to the canvas in the second round, but had to wait until the seventh to be awarded the bout - when his opponent was disqualified for repetitive holding.
“If I’m being honest, I never really got out of first or second gear,” Johnson admitted afterwards, although he was pleased to return to action for the first time in more than 12 months.
“But it was a good feeling to get rid of that rust.”
The fight took place at Walsall Town Hall.
