The defending champions played against Spilsby in their final match of 2013/2014 season.

The team of James Newton, Ryan Frankish, Anthony Hulley and Dan Bambridge have a long string of wins to their credit this campaign.

And this match was no exception, despite them being pushed all the way.

Although they had to come through a tie-break, they recorded another win to be crowned champions, with Boston F the runners-up.

The first shots were hit in the 2014 Aegon Team Tennis competition at the weekend.

It was a great sunny start to the summer season for the Boston Tennis Club under nines A team on Saturday.

Playing Woodhall’s Tennis Buddies in the first of their Aegon Team matches, the team produced some strong performances and took advantage of the home fixture.

The team of William Cheer, Devon Morgan, Serena Morrow and Rebecca Dickens - who was playing at the orange level in the under nines section for the first time - only missed out in one rubber to take a conclusive win.

Next weekend the Sleaford Road club’s other age groups will start their matches in the Aegon Team Tennis competition.
