Castle storm the Road in Coningsby Bowls League

SLEAFORD Road A just made it by one shot on one rink, but lost the other two by substantial margins for Castle to win 36-65 (2-6).

A close aggregate finish at Mareham saw the P. Smith rink winning 27-7 for the home side to counter wins by the Sue and Dave Bridges’ rinks for Sibsey Millers, giving a 48-49 (2-6) result.

Friskney continued good form with a 59-42 (6-2) home win against Woodhall Town.

Castle are starting to feel their way with a good win on two rinks, and just losing the third by one shot to Forbes Road A, giving a 59-47 (6-2) result.

Sleaford Road beat West End B 39-60 (0-8).

Division Two

FREISTON A had a 24-5 rink win at home to Wrangle A, but lost the other two by a similar margin, and the game 36-51 (2-6).

A close rink win each at Sibsey with Keith Woods, John Hodgson and Wendy King ensuring the aggregate with a 27-14 win for the Strollers in their match with Wrangle A to give a 68-48 (6-2) result.

Wrangle B just beat Jubilee Park 53-52 (6-2).

Two results for West End A saw them draw with Good Fellowship 51-48 (4-4) and lose to Jubilee Park 39-58 (0-8).

Freiston A did well at home to Billinghay, winning 64-55 (6-2)

Division Three

WEST Skirbeck struggled at home to Kirton A, managing a draw on one rink but losing on the other two to go down 38-54 (1-7).

Burton House took one rink 29-2 against a Freiston B rink, playing one short, but managed two close wins on the others to take the game 64-47 (8-0)

A close call at Stickney saw them edge past BBC II 48-46 (4-4) finish.

Two rink wins by Kirton A in their game with Burton House was not quite enough to take the aggregate, giving a 46-48 (4-4) result.

Division Four

A CLOSE game at Woodhall saw the Nymphs beat Swineshead 52-44 (8-0).

The Harrison’s rink win of 25-4 earned Sleaford Road II a draw against Wigtoft, 47-35 (4-4).

Sibsey Traders beat Kirton B 33-54 (7-0).

A good rink win each in the Forbes Road versus Wigtoft game saw the home side taking the third 19-11 to give them a 58-38 (6-2) win.
