Castle under siege, but they hold firm against Strollers in Coningsby Bowls League

IN THE Jubilee Cup, Sibsey Strollers, from Division Two, won on two rinks at home to holders Castle, who took the third by the winning margin of 12-26 to give a 48-52 result.

Mareham le Fen had a decisive 69-39 win at home to Forbes Road A with all rinks winning well.

In Division One, Sleaford Road, playing a player short, still won on two rinks at home to Woodhall Town.

But the away rink skipped by B. Connelly did enough to take the aggregate and draw the match 46-51 (4-4).

John Bontoft and his rink had a good win at home to Forbes Road A, and with a close win each on the other two they succeeded 50-41 (6-2)

West End B won at home to Forbes Road A with a 57-48 (6-2) result and at home to Friskney a narrow 45-38 (6-2) win.

Playing catch up, Mareham had their week one game with Woodhall Town winning on all three and the match 62-42 (8-0).

Division Two saw a good rink win each in the Wrangle B versus Freiston game, with Freiston getting the decider by one shot to give a 48-61 (2-6) result.

A 26-13 rink earned Billinghay a draw at home to Jubilee Park, 54-47 (4-4) result.

Jubilee Park won a high-scoring rink by one shot at home to Good Fellowship, who made no mistake on the other two to get a 54-65 (2-6) result.

In Division Three, West Skirbeck lost to Burton House 33-41 (2-6), with one rink each decided by one shot.

They had better luck away to Stickney with business-like wins on all three to give a 30-43 (0-8) result.

Kirton A had a good win at home to Freiston B, with three rink wins to give a 60-39 (8-0) result.

BBC I struggled on two at home to Burton House, who recorded a strong 40-73 (2-6) win.

In Division Four, top-of-the-table Donington II struggled at home to a resurgent Swineshead to go down 42-58 (0-8).

Swineshead didn’t do so well at home to Wigtoft, losing 44-54 (2-6).

Three good rink wins in the Donington A versus Horncastle saw two going to the home side to give a 51-40 (6-2) result.

Sleaford Road II played one short but drew at Forbes Road B 65-45 (4-4).

Woodhall Nymphs won 53-43 (6-2) against Donington II.

Division Five saw Sibsey Traders gain close wins on two at home to Gosberton and won the third 24-11 to win 61-43 (8-0).

Three close rink results in the Boston Park-Bicker game saw Park win 58-51 (7-1).
