Golfer Dave Coupland was unable to make the cut in his second appearance on the Challenge Tour this year.

The Bostonian was in action at the Challenge de Catalunya, which began at the Lumine Golf and beach Club, Tarragona, on Thursday.

Coupland shot a three-over-par 74 on day one of the competition in Spain.

And the 28-year-old was on one over par on day two when play was suspended due to strong winds.

When play resumed on Saturday he concluded his second round in 72 shots, finishing in joint 104th place.

That wasn’t enough for him to progress to the third and final round iof the competition, which was reduced to 54 holes.

Spaniard Antonio Hortal walked away with the 25,600 Euro winner’s cheque after finishing on -14.

His second round was a course record-equalling 63.

Coupland had previously finished in joint 29th place on the Challenge Tour’s curtain raiser, the Barclays Kenya Open in Nairobi.

Coupland’s golf clothing is sponsored by Bunker Mentality, and he is pictured on a recent visit.
