Kelvin Clements fully justified his number-two ranking in Division One when he took his three games in straight sets as Lodgers G cruised to a 9-1 victory over their stablemates Lodgers E.

Mark Hulme also took his three but Gary Hill was beaten in the fifth set by Trev Blackbourn.

The G team are now 12 points above Penmaen at the top of the table – but have played three matches more than their rivals.

Wrangle A beat Graves Park B 6-4 in an almighty tussle.

Dave Coulson picked up his three for Wrangle, but needed five sets to see off the challenge of Mick Maltby, while Pete Evans lost out 13-15 in the fifth leg against Alan Reetham.

All the Park lads beat Sam Cooper, Mike Freeston achieving this in straight sets.

But with a victory needed in the doubles to secure a draw, Mick and Alan lost out to Sam and Pete.

Sibsey B were thankful for the gift of three points when Stickney arrived with only two players, although Jack Christian and Vince Lozynsky still managed to pull off a 6-4 victory.

Jack won his three, although Wayne Grooby went 2-1 sets up before Jack turned the game around.

Steve Hill was desperately unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet.

He went down in five sets to Vince, while Richard Hill went one better, beating Vince, also in five ends, the two Hills then combining in the doubles, losing out to Jack and Vince.

Graves Park C drew 5-5 at Lodgers E.

For the Park it was a welcome back to Mick East, playing his first match of the season.

However, his sharpness was lacking as he lost in four sets to both Trev Blackbourn and Scott Sykes, but beat Colin Bell in five ends.

James Quinton beat Scott and Colin, while Trev proved his downfall, winning in five ends.

Martin Walters had to be content with one win, against Trev, the two then teaming up with their partners, James and Scott respectively, the Lodgers duo claiming the victory after five sets to secure the draw on the evening.

Division Two results: Belchford 5 Lodgers D 5, Sibsey C 7 Lodgers H 3, Graves Park E 5 Wrangle B 5
