Gipsey Bridge racer Broderick Whitmore-Wilson powered to his eighth podium of the season, promoting him to just one point away from the Banovallum Enduro club Expert championship lead.
Battling against a field of 84 competitors at the Ashby Puerorum meeting, the 20-year old rounded both halves of the three-hour-long enduro in second place, despite numerous crashes along the way.
“The conditions were quite tricky today,” said Broderick.
“One minute the sun was out and the next it was hailing down.
“It took a lot of concentration to keep my flow and focus on riding smoothly.
“It didn’t all go to plan. At one point I found myself upside down in a huge tractor tyre with the bike on top of me. That was different.”
The next championship round is on June 15 at Claxby, near Market Rasen.
Prior to that Broderick aims to compete in a few other motocross and enduro meetings.
He added: “I’m really keen to keep competing as often as possible.
“I’m happy with how this weekend has gone, but I want to keep on best form ahead of the next meeting.”
