l IN AUGUST the HSBC Road to Wimbledon National Finals will take place.

This tournament begins in schools and clubs across the country for 11-14 year olds.

l BOSTON Tennis Club held its Road to Wimbledon tournament in May and the winners and runners up went forward to the county finals held at Eastgate Club last weekend.

David Cheer and Dana Kenneally-Forrester were the winners of Boston’s Road to Wimbledon Tournament. David Cheer came through the final against Zach McDonnell-Woods 7-5, 6-0 whilst Dana also won the final with the same score line to beat Victoria Needham.

Boston’s winners and runners up then went to the county finals at Lincoln.

David Cheer in a separate half of the draw to Zach was knocked out on the way to the final.

Zach in the opposite side of the draw played his way in to the final against Oliver Boulton.

Having lost the first set 3-6 Zach won the second set 6-3 and the third set tie – break 10-6.

The girls played a round robin competition in which Dana lost out to the overall winner Lydia Walker. Good performances from all the players, but it is Zach who moves forward to represent Lincolnshire in the Road to Wimbledon National finals, which will be held in August.
