Conditions make it a short haul flight

ORGANISERS of pigeon racing have faced great difficulties so far this season because of the awful weather, and Saturday was again no exception.

The birds were scheduled to be liberated from Newton Aycliffe in Durham, but the weather there was unfit for a liberation and convoyer Steve Spinks had to move southwards before being able to release the pigeons at Bubwith, half the distance originally planned.

Joe McFadyen had the two fastest birds into the area to take first and second in Boston and District FC, while there was a return to form for Carl Upsall, flying as Upsall and Frost, who took one-two in Boston Central.
