Coulter is Boston West Golf Club’s Seniors’ champion

T. Coulter has won the Seniors’ Club Championship at Boston West Golf Club.

He was crowned the champion with an overall score of nett 143 points over the two legs.

Second was D. Cody with 147 points, who saw off the challenge of G. King on countback.

R. King won the first round with a nett 69.

P. Sheppard also scored 69 but missed out on countback.

The club’s senior vice-captain Stuart Pickett has won the Don Hillcoat Trophy.

The competition was played during an exchange day at Waltham Windmill.

Pickett recorded an excellent score of 38 points.

The best two from three stableford competition was played, and the winners were D. Peall, N. Stanley and B. Wilkinson.

Three team matches were played in June, the first against Belton Woods at home resulting in a 4-4 draw.

Winning teams were J. Pattenden/R. King, G. Morgan/T. Coulter and R. Roberts/D. Brown.

Halved games were achieved by G. King/P. Whyers and M. Osborn/B. Taylor.

Away at Toft, the seniors were whitewashed, but at home to Blankney the Boston team won 7.5-0.5.

Winners were S. Pikett/M. Rowe, R. Elms/ D. Brown, L. O’Dea/G. Morgan, J, Chain/ J. Eldridge, M. Osborn/B. Wilkinson, T. Coulter/ D. Barton and R. Roberts/J. Baker.

J. Pattenden/P. Whyers halved their match.
